Just got back from pheasant hunting in South Dakota. It was a remarkable experience and delightful hunt. Hunted near Alexandria, SD in the southeastern part of the state. Hunted with Granite Springs Hunting and Lodging. This was a great place to stay for the price. Arrived Friday morning and began hunting around noon. Took 30 something roosters with limited walking in tallgrass along windbreaks and near corn/milo fields. Ate some prime rib for dinner and played a little poker that night as well. Saturday morning breakfast was great and hunting commenced at 10:00 am. Took 40 something birds and retreated for some tasty beverages and snacks. Nice pork chops for dessert and some more socializing with the other hunters. Great lodging, good food, superb hunting, and even caught five 16 inch rainbow trout from the lake.
